As the founder and lead counselor of Windows of Hope Counseling Center, it was my hope to create a non-profit agency offering effective and affordable counseling to the community. It is my belief that everyone deserves to be nurtured and supported during their healing process. Many times while on our life journey we can become confused and experience difficulty finding our way. The twists and curves life brings us may seem overwhelming. My hope is to help clients become anchored so that when life difficulties become part of their journey they stay flexible while keeping their direction intact. I specialize with couples and individuals using “Imago” therapeutic techniques along with mindfulness based practices.

I can work with you to help you balance your body, mind, and spirit. In doing so, we may examine your family of origin, use relaxation techniques, thought reformations, meditation, or various other modalities to help you achieve balance. I use a integrated approach of Transpersonal , Structural, Bowenian, Cognitive, and Behavioral therapies. Together we will determine what coping skills will suit you and establish goals to meet your needs.

I’ve been working and volunteering in the mental health field for the past 10 years. I have worked with , people experiencing addiction (substances, food, sex, etc.), depression, anxiety, eating disorders, sexual abuse, trauma, and various other life transitions. I enjoy working with a diversity of people including: individuals, adolescents, families, couples, and children. I welcome anyone regardless of their age, race, and sexual/religious orientation. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and my Masters degree in Psychology, (emphasis in marriage and family therapy) from Chapman University. I look forward to an opportunity to be of service ! christine1Christine Dufond, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern #61172, Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (under the supervision of Gary Henderson, MFT, License # 7053)

My focus throughout the counseling process is to provide my clients with the support, guidance, insight, and tools needed to sustain them on their unique path of healing and growth. We all have an innate ability to transcend our suffering. Sometimes we just need someone to help us get in touch with this ability by listening to our story, providing us with any needed tools, and supporting us on our journey.

My emphasis and experience is in counseling couples, individuals, and adolescents, covering a broad range of issues, and using a humanistic/psychodynamic mindfulness based approach. I alternate depth therapy with introducing my clients to helpful tools/techniques to help them foster growth. Many of my techniques are inspired by Harville Hendrix and David Richo, and therefore tend to emphasize the use of mindfulness and depth therapy as a way of moving beyond the patterns of being stuck in or triggered by past wounds. I have been working as a family counselor for Windows of Hope since April of 2008 when they first opened their office in Roseville. I now live in Sonoma County, where I see clients in the Sebastopol and Santa Rosa offices. To learn more about me and my counseling philosophy, please visit my website at www.mindfuljourneycounseling.com. I also offer a free twenty minute phone consultation upon request.

philPhilip Sandoval, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern #, Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (under the supervision of Gary Henderson, MFT, License # 7053)

I am a graduate of the University of San Francisco with a masters degree in Counseling Psychology. I use a wide range of psychodynamic processes to help individuals, couples, and families address topics that may be limiting their relationships or personal development. Those may include anything from interpersonal relationship issues, communication skills, addictions, educational, employment, financial, and many other topics. I encourage and support clients to bring into therapy their own beliefs and life foundations which may include religious beliefs, social views, or something entirely unique to the client.

With years of teaching at the college level and working in the corporate world of computer chip design, I bring a wide range of not only psychotherapeutic perspective to the counseling room but also years of experience in the real world of making a living and engaging in interpersonal relationships.

As a counselor at Windows of Hope Counseling Center, my focus has been with individuals, adolescents, families, and couples. Because life can be overwhelming at times, we can become confused or off-balance. I have used many different approaches to help each individual heal and bring greater peace to their lives. With an emphasis on mindfulness, client-centered, psychodynamic, transpersonal, and dream approaches, I have successfully worked with people during their healing process. With anything from emotional trauma (depression, divorce, bipolar or schizo-affective symptoms, etc…) and pain to an unbalanced life, my hope is to help redirect you to a path that unfolds your authentic nature. I look forward to a meaningful experience with you.

breeBree Rhodes, Counselor, Masters in Psychology (under the supervision of Gary Henderson, MFT, License # 7053, and Sue Hutchinson-Phillips, Registered Psychologist and Hypnotherapist)

My experience is largely derived from counseling adults and adolescents with substance use and mental health concerns, although I also have experience helping others with grief and loss, trauma, interpersonal communication, relationships, emotional acceptance, and a variety of other matters of life.  I encourage clients to move towards psychological flexibility, believing that it is when we are able to be present and open to our experiences, whilst taking action that is guided by our values, we are able to effectively face the many challenges that life brings.  This Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework—honed from extensive training by Dr. Russ Harris—is encompassed by the existential-humanistic, person-centered, solution-focused approaches I adopt in my practice.

I believe that the ability to genuinely empathize with another reflects our deeper understanding that we are all interconnected and that we all experience suffering.  From this arises a space of non-judgment and acceptance that also proves to be invaluable to the client’s journey of change, and adopting this as part of my therapeutic philosophy is perhaps one of my greatest strengths as a practitioner.  My passion is to help others helps themselves, and I look forward to being invited on this part of your journey.

Laurie Rhodes Kroger, Counselor, Masters in Psychology(under the supervision of Gary Henderson, MFT, License # 7053

Additionally, I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds who seek to integrate their spiritual beliefs with their life experience.  I seek to assist my clients in developing further satisfaction within their relationships, career, and living environment, experiencing personal growth.
